should i get a financial planner?

I’m moderate investor with a couple of mutual funds and recently I started to invest with dealsjamaica, fidelity and I do a little trading here and there but I bumped into an article in the Business Mirror authored by a registered financial planner. He writes about making the right financial decisions and claims to be learned about practically all retail investments in the Phil. I contacted him and am in the middle of talks, including his compensation. He seems credible enough, but have any of you ever dealt with an rfp? Has it been helpful and worthwhile? .
