Scottish Widows, owned by Lloyds TSB (insurance people) annouced that fewer people are saving enough for their retirement. I can't believe they pay people to make studies like this. Nothing has changed, America is the richest nation and they are also among the worst savers in the world. Freedom 65? HAHAHA, Freedom 75 in the States. The study suggested that since last year the percentage of people saving adequately for their old age fell from 55% to 46%. The proportion failing to make any form of pension saving rose from 17% to 28%. Among the changes being proposed by the government to help are gradual rises in the state pension age and the creation of a new system of additional personal pension savings.
