Here are some prelim results from the US Dept of Commerce.


New Orders
New orders for manufactured durable goods in November increased $4.0 billion or 1.9 percent to $214.2 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau announced today. This was the third increase in the last four months and followed an 8.2 percent October decrease. Excluding transportation, new orders decreased 1.1 percent. Excluding defense, new orders increased 0.6 percent. Transportation equipment, up three of the last four months, had the largest increase, $5.6 billion or 9.4 percent to $65.7 billion.

Shipments
Shipments of manufactured durable goods in November, up three of the last four months, increased $0.2 billion or 0.1 percent to $209.6 billion. This followed a 0.3 percent October increase. Computers and electronic products, up four of the last five months, had the largest increase, $0.9 billion or 2.6 percent to $35.7 billion.

Unfilled Orders
Unfilled orders for manufactured durable goods in November, up eighteen of the last nineteen months, increased $11.7 billion or 1.7 percent to $678.5 billion. This was at the highest level since the series was first stated on a NAICS basis in 1992 and followed a 1.3 percent October increase. Transportation equipment, up eighteen of the last nineteen months, had the largest increase, $10.4 billion or 2.9 percent to $368.8 billion.
