Brilliant Bush Proposes Offshore Solution

The C- president, with the lowest approval rating ever, proposed a great fix to the sky rocketing oil prices killing American consumerism. Massive incentives and programs to decrease consumption of frivolous consumer goods and energy efficient products have ......... no wait, that's not it. W has instead called for the reopening of offshore drilling in U.S. coastal waters. Bush wants Congress to lift a ban on drilling in about 80 per cent of the U.S. coastal shelf that has been in place since 1981. The call for more offshore drilling comes as the global price for oil continues to top $130 US a barrel, and the average U.S. price for gasoline exceeds $4 per gallon. Talk about an idiotic solution, rather than fix the problem, gross over consumption by americans (SUV found nowhere in the world but north america), but they'll just pump the grotesquely obese consumer with more food (oil since food is expensive now). The area under the ban includes about 232 million hectares of coastal water, which are thought to contain undersea reserves of 18 billion barrels of oil and 77 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, according to the U.S. Interior Department. Currently, the only U.S. coastal areas where drilling is permitted include the western Gulf of Mexico and some parts of Alaska. Presidential hopefully Mccain is also jumping on with the stupid idea. Expect congress to tell Bush to go poop his pants. Even if the ban is lifted, the expensive and environmentally damaging drilling wouldn't help supply for another few years. Solution? Americans are idiots but that may soon change with the change in government. (By idiots I mean they consume way too much and deserve to be reigned in by the free market for their over consumption.)
