A chemist, an engineer and an economist joke

A chemist, an engineer and an economist are stranded on a deserted island. They carry with them some canned food but have no ordinary means of opening the cans. The chemist suggests gathering some wood and starting a fire and then holding the cans over the heat, counting on the expanding contents to burst open the cans. The engineer thinks it would be better to try smashing the cans open with some of the rocks lying around. The economist begins, "Assume we had a can opener..."

Goodbye DiscussEconomics Forum

We're saying goodbye to our economics forum that's seen more popular days. We'll be migrating most of the content to the blog. However, that's not the end of the forum entirely. We've crunched it down to two categories and the one you need to know about is the, "ask an economics question" section which we'll be keeping.

We wanted to maintain some element where students and interested browsers could post questions and have the community respond. You can find the link to the economics questions forum here.

Bear With the Design Changes

In an effort to continually serve our visitors we are undergoing a design change in the blog. You'll still see the simple newspaper layout we have, but we're trying to have it load automatically depending on your screen size. This will give those with larger screens a chance to view the text without a microscope, and those with smaller resolutions the change to see the entire page without anything being cut-out.
